ASMC 036 – Daredevil 27 and Amazing Spider-Man 48

Welcome to a double-dipping of Spidey goodness.  First, the gang heads over to Daredevil 27 to see the Hornhead and the Webhead team-up against the Masked Marauder, who has decreed, “Mike Murdock Must Die!”  Next, Spider-Man falls prey to Blackie Drago who attacks him “On the Wings of the Vulture!” in Amazing Spider-Man 48.  It’s a big party, as Karen Page, Mike Murdock, Gwen and MJ, Anna Watson and Aunt May, and of course Harry Osborn all join in for this episode of Amazing Spider-Man Classics!

There are some emails read this time around, so if you would like to have your opinion read on the show regarding the books or our comments on them, drop us a line, and we’ll be happy to do it.  You may also follow the show on Twitter.

Golden Age Superman

GASup 026 May 1940

Welcome to Golden Age Superman.  This episode, I spend a little while taking a look at Superman 5, New York World’s Fair Comics 1940, Action Comics 26, and all the usual monthly doses of Superman in other media.  Highlights include Alex Evell’s campaign against the Planet (get it?  evell = evil), Jack Burnley’s first work on Superman at the New York World’s Fair, and Professor Cobalt’s quack clinic taking advantage of FDR’s drive to cure polio. All that and more make this the BIGGEST EPISODE EVER! of the show.  We also see the debut of two new powers — photographic memory, and super facial muscular control!  You won’t wanna miss it!

Golden Age Superman is a proud member of the Superman Podcast Network.  If you wish to send feedback, you may do so in the comments below or via email.  You can also subscribe to the show through iTunes, and leave a review if you like to spread the word to others.  Thank you so much for listening!

ASMC 035 – Peter Parker: Spider-Man v2 1 and Webspinners: Tales of Spider-Man 1

The month of new #1s continues!  But this time, it’s Peter Parker: Spider-Man and Webspinners that get the podcasting treatment from barely legal Jon, pubescent Bertone, and preteen Donovan!  What new plot has Howard Mackie cooked up for the ex-webhead, and will the Gang ever survive the art of Michael Zulli??!!

Due to the unique theme of this episode, there are no emails read this episode, but if you would like to share your thoughts on the stories we cover or the episode itself, and have them read on the air in the future, drop us a line, and we’ll be happy to do it.
