After the tremendous response you gave to episode 1, how could we not return for more?

In this second episode of The New 52 Adventures of Superman, we turn our attention to the rest of the Superman stable of books: Superboy 1, Supergirl 1, and Superman 1.  The Superman universe in this New 52 universe is unfolding before our eyes, so it is of course our job to dissect and talk about what we like, what we love, and every now and again what we wish were different.

This episode, I am joined again by Charlie Niemeyer of Superman in the Bronze Age to look at Jack Burnley’s work in Action Comics 29.  It’s a great little mystery that jams 13 pages more full of story than they often are.  Feel free to laugh and mock as Jon stumbles all over the various characters’ names, as the guest patiently waits for him to figure out what’s going on.  Then over in the newspapers, Lois gets kidnapped (like that’s news) and Superman goes for a nap on top of a train, while on the radio show, Clark assists in the plunder of an ancient civilization.  All that and more on Golden Age Superman!

New 52 Adventures of Superman 01 Action Comics 1

Here’s where it all begins, folks.  The New 52 Adventures of Superman is a podcast dedicated to covering every adventure of Superman and his family of characters as they are currently being published as part of DC Comics — The New 52!  This episode is the first half of the coverage for the September books.  With introductions and preliminaries, plus the vast amount of material to cover in the issue, this first episode only covers Action Comics 1, plus the minor Superman appearances in Justice League 1 and Swamp Thing 1.  The rest of the September books, Superboy 1, Supergirl 1, and Superman 1 will be coming your way in two short weeks.
