Another fun episode! Thank you! I knew Doc Ock was coming, but I didn’t know exactly when he first appeared. I loved that you included the comment from Peter, “He called me Superman.” referencing the famous slip-up (typo? sarcasm from Dr. Octopus?) in this early Spider-Man story. I also enjoyed the beginning of the sort of “pranking” friendship between Spider-Man and the Human Torch, and Spider-Man’s mistakes in not getting photos of his exploits for the Daily Bugle, which would happen from time to time in future issues.
Again with the “updating” the technology, with Spider-Man’s “Spider Light” being and LED light. That makes more sense, I suppose, for contemporary listeners. I get your point, in a previous reply, that any updating will eventually become outdated at some point, but all you can really do is either keep it “vintage”, or make it “contemporary”, which will always be a moving target.
