Jon reads Action Comics 260 (1959) and talks about it!

First of all, as I’m not the first person to note, Lois Lane is astonishingly lucky that, whenever she does something monumentally dangerous, like driving around an area of tornado activity in a convertible, because she just *knows* that Superman will show up and rescue her if something goes wrong, she *does* get rescued, sometimes by someone who isn’t Superman. When will she learn?

Second, I love it when an issue of Action Comics contains multiple Supergirl stories, especially with the convoluted and unlikely plots they often feature. I also love how you point out things like the magically melting lead ball, and Supergirl somehow “remembering” how to fly when her temporary de-aging wears off. Thank you for all the fun.

I can hardly wait for the next episode featuring my second-favorite of Supergirl’s super-pets.

Man, I should have known it would happen to Supergirl eventually. Somebody at DC in the Silver Age really loved the idea of heroes being de-aged into babies, because it happened all the time! It seemed to happen to the Legion of Super-Heroes once or twice a year. And as you note, the most annoying thing about it was that strange patois that the baby-ized heroes invariably spoke in, unlike anything a real child has ever uttered. “Me am Supergirl! Me throw ball!” and like that.

Had Mort Weisinger never met an actual toddler?

In any case, your coverage of the stories were fun, even if this issue did feature probably my least-favorite plot element in all of comics.
