The first major New 52 Superman crossover continues, and Jon, Dave, and our friend Charlie are back to talk about what was good, what was bad, and what made us go, “Hmmmm!”  Here are the stories up for review:

Superboy 15 — “Shattered Steel!” — Superboy’s dying, and only Superman’s armor can save him, but at what cost to the clone of steel?

Supergirl 15 — “Into Kandor” — What happens when H’el sends Supergirl into the last bastion of her home civilization?

Superman 15 — “Because I’m a Scorpion” — We wanted more Luthor, and we got more Luthor!

2013 is here, folks!  And for our first episode, we are looking at the final month of books from 2012.  This week, we’ll cover Action Comics 15 as well as all the peripheral goings-on in the worlds of the Superfolks.  This includes the usual team books of Worlds’ Finest 7 and Justice League 15 (along with Aquaman 15 for “Throne of Atlantis”), plus guest appearances from Superboy in The Ravagers 7 and Legion Lost 15.  No Teen Titans this time out because the team is involved in rescuing Tim Drake from the Joker and didn’t take Superboy along for the ride.

Well, it’s been a year, and quite a year at that!  Jon and Dave are here to commemorate the end of our first twelve months of Superman podcasting by kicking back with the movie that was the start of fandom for so many of us, and we are joined by our long lost third chair, Mr. Michael Kaiser!  So join us for a journey back to those magical moments when we were made to believe a man can fly.

Note: Commentary is done with the 2000 Director’s Cut of the film.

Welcome to a new era in The New 52 Adventures of Superman!  With the major crossover happening in the main titles, “H’el on Earth,” we’re rearranging our format to give it due space.  That means we’ll be covering all of this month’s H’el material next time, and EVERYTHING else in this episode right here.  Everything but emails, which will hit in an episode all their own at the end of the month.  Our feature stories are:

Action Comics 14 — “Superman’s Mission to Mars” and “Star Light, Star Bright…”

After that, we’ll see Helena and Damian in Worlds’ Finest 6, the Justice League confront Simon Baz in Green Lantern 14, Superboy help the Ravagers against … the other Ravagers … in The Ravagers 6 and then help the Legion and Harvest against a threat in Legion Lost 14, Superman and Wonder Woman heat up in Justice League 14 before they pay a visit to Starfire in Red Hood and the Outlaws 14, with the episode wrapping over in New York as Wonder Girl’s origin story comes to a close in Teen Titans 14.
